Celebrating Six Years with a Win! #WordlessWednesday

Can you believe that it's been six years since we got married?! I have a hard time trying to find where all of the time went... let alone the Caps game photos from 2005-2007 that I wanted to include!

We try to celebrate our anniversary at a Caps game every year... the home opener is always within a week of the date (October 8th) and this was the first time it fell on our actual anniversary!

Doodle had a great time with Nancy and Pop Pop while we dined at Asia Nine and spent the rest of the evening rocking the red!

Happy Anniversary, Sweetie!

I know that this may be a slightly nontraditional way to spend a wedding anniversary, but it works for us... what do you do to celebrate?!

"Bright and Vivid" Hockey Dreams

I have a feeling it won't take long for her to learn the Washington Sports Fan's annual saying, "There's always next year."  While the early exit from the Playoff's definitely burned, it's especially painful when your 21-month-old yells "Ovi! Ovi! Caps! Caps! Caps!" anytime she sees a hockey game.  We'll be tuning in to see if the Canucks beat the Bruins tomorrow night (the home team has won every game) and we're already counting down to October.

Blogger's Note: As I write this, she's in bed cheering "Caps! Caps! Caps!" while snuggling with Slapshot.

Documenting a Meltdown Near Center Ice...

Let's just start off by saying Daggers is not a meltdown kinda girl... if she cries it means she's hungry, tired, or needs to be changed. There was one night a few months ago when she cried for about 45 minutes before falling asleep, but other than that, she's been drama free thus far. "Thus far" being the key words in that sentence...

Yesterday Dagny got her 4 month shots at the pediatrician... I knew she had to go into the office, but totally didn't realize that they'd be jabbing her with 2 needles in addition to other poking and prodding. Joe was an absolute champ for taking her and dealing with the whole situation... he got her calmed down and she even closed her eyes for a few minutes on the way home. He had quickly run home to feed the puppies, but then headed downtown to see me and go to the Caps game! Woo Hoo, right?! When they got here, I knew something was off b/c she wasn't her normal smiley self, but chalked it up to the shots and being tired (she was awake the whole metro ride down). We had a nice dinner at Teaism before walking up in the bitter cold to Verizon Center.

She was loving life in the Bjorn until the beautiful notes of Oh Canada began to play (and no, I'm not being sarcastic - I truly LOVE the Canadian national anthem! LOVE IT! I'm not sure why, but I absolutely LOVE playing Canadian teams because I get to hear it live!). In perfect Dagny form (ie. the same thing she did at the previous 2 games), she started crying as soon as the anthems begin. We previously were able to calm her and smile apologetically at everyone around us as our little girl belts her own tune. Last night- not so much.

She cried... and cried... and cried. Joe took her out on the concourse to walk and calm her down, but as soon as she calmed and he brought her back to the seats, she was crying again! I then took her out, did a few laps around the Phone Booth and watched from the top of our section and she was relatively calm. That is, until we went to our seats and Joe smiled at her. Yes, it was one of those meltdowns where her making eye contact with anyone brought in another phase of uncontrollable sobs. I'm thinking it had to be a combo of her getting shots earlier in the day and then not getting any rest (Oh, and there was a massive "blow out" on the metro that I got to deal with when they got there! ICK!)... that or the fact that nobody scored in the 1st period, but my smiley D somehow turned into this crying machine!

Luckily, she fell asleep in Joe's arms right before the 2nd period and she managed to sleep through the horns and three Caps goals... to be honest, I think it was Semin's 1st tally of the night that woke her up, but she woke up a new baby! Well, she was back to her old self! She was happy and watched the rest of the game from the Bjorn without a care in the world (we were up 3-1 at the time and won the game 4-2). At the end of the night, she was awesome again, but not without that little blip on the radar! ;)

In true Caps fashion, they have photographers around the arena taking fan shots of everyone that you can later buy online... most of the time I'm dying to find one, but last night they found us- separately! They caught Joe doing the Dagger-Calm-Down stroll at the beginning of the 1st period, me at the end of the period, and probably thought "Oh, it's the baby's 1st hockey game so they'll want a photo." Neither of us had the heart to say, "Um, its her third game and now is not the time," so we grinned and bore it as they snapped away. Needless to say, these aren't the smiley photos of Dagny that we've grown accustomed to...

On a side note... I'm minorly obsessed with team's colors and LOVE it when the opposing team's colors coordinate with our fabulous Red and Blue! For example, I cringe when we play San Jose- teal/black vs red/blue!? Come on!! Last night; however, is probably my favorite combo because we have the same colors and aside from the checking and beating each other up, everything (or at least the colors... the Caps rocking the red and the Habs in the white with red/blue) is in perfect harmony on the ice! ;) Yes, I'm a dork, but I love it!

Say Cheese!

Last week we headed up to Mountainside for an impromptu photo session! One of Nancy and Joe's church friends, Laura Franklin, is a FABULOUS photographer whose work I've been admiring since I saw the photos she did of James (Lauren's sweet little boy) a few months ago. I cannot wait for Baby Girl to get here so I can rush her over to Laura's house for her first photos!
Until then, you'll have to settle for some photos of all of us... and me with my 5 1/2-month preggo belly. Here are a few of my faves:

I'm almost as pale as Joey, I need some sun!

Am I really this short?!

I looovveeee this one!

Brandy's little boy, Mason, is due Sept 2nd!

Can't wait for Drew to get home in August so he can be in the next family photo!

Yes, we love our Caps!

Here's a slideshow of the rest of my favotites:

Here we go...

Sadly, we are not among the lucky 17,000 fans in the phone booth tonight... Which is working out okay since my darling Joe is one sick pup and would have struggled to get out of bed to go (if we did have tickets, you bet your tush he'd rally... But I guess everything happens for a reason).

Instead, we'll be in our respective corners of the couch (puppies in my lap, of course) reminding each other to breathe for the next few hours...

Let's Go Caps!

Already Working on the Mommy-Daughter Wardrobe Coordination...

...and you thought it would be Lilly Pulitzer or Laura Ashley! ;)
Those will come in time, but seeing that baby girl will be about 3 weeks old when the 09-10 Capitals season begins, this simply took priority! :-D
Oh; and in case you live under a rock... turn on Versus at 7pm on Wednesday to catch the latest installment of the Caps/Penguins series!
LET'S GO CAPS!!

Let's Go Caps!

I've been very hesitant to blog about the Caps as I don't want to push any luck that may be involved in this year's postseason! But since round one is safely tucked behind us, I'll take this opportunity to smile, breathe, and enjoy the last few hours before round two commences!

Joe and I totally lucked out and were able to go to some games... he stood in line at 4am at DC101 (local radio station) to get his hair hawked and a ticket on the morning of game one. What's even cooler about that whole deal is that he got to chat with Elliot and Diane on the air before he left the station (Sooo cool)!! I went to game two with Big Joe... while the outcome left us with a long and silent ride home on the metro, being in the phone booth for the game was so totally awesome!! Finally, Joe and Eric got to go to game seven! Whew!
With round two vs. the Pens coming up, there's not much more to say than...
UNLEASH THE FURY!

Catching Up on the Past Few Weeks...

Joe and I decided to take a non-traditional approach to Valentine's Day this year... we essentially decided to do a nice dinner a week early, courtesy of the Melting Pot Gift Card Gmom and Gpa gave us for Xmas, and gave each other gifts as soon as they were purchased. Tous, my FAVORITE Spanish jewelry designer, opened up a store at Tyson's... Can we say GRACIAS!!?! I virtually danced into the store, basking in old memories of El Corte Ingles and the street performers that were always right outside. I, of course, spotted some new jewelry pieces that I'll eventually get, but was drawn to the handbags in the back of the store. I might as well come out and say it, Joe's not a Burberry fan. Gasp! I know... so sad. So since I've been toting around my Burberry satchel for over a year, he was kinda excited at the prospect of seeing me tote around something new. Okay, so maybe he didn't care as much about a new purse acquisition as I'd like to believe, but he did offer to get me a new bag for Valentine's Day!

Photo courtesy of my Blackberry Storm... pretty good, eh?

Okay, so we had a fabulous Meal at the Melting Pot... I know that fondue isn't for everyone, but dear god do I love this place (it may also have something to do with the fact that it was where Joe took me on our 1st real date)! I could go on for days about the gooey yummers that we had, but I'll spare you most of them... we got the Cheddar Cheese (this is pretty much the only thing I princessily demand), garden salad (which is always amazing... as it should be if I'm wasting stomach space on rabbit food during this meal), Fondue Fusion (I think that's it... we got the platter with Chicken, Shrimp, Filet, and Teriyaki Steak) with the Mojo Broth (kinda bored with Coq au Vin, so we changed it up and were pleased with it), and the Cherry Jubilee Dark Chocolate (which was yummy and a good change from the normal turtle, but seeing that it was a limited engagement thing, we'll be back to the flaming turtle one next time)!

So, by February 8th, we were pretty much done with Valentine's Day... which meant that by the 10th I was itchy to plan to do something for the next weekend (actual VDay!). I looked up the Hershey Bears schedule and saw that they had a game at home on the 14th... and with tickets at only $22 a pop, I told Joe we were going!

Side note: On Friday night I was escorted by two handsome gentleman (Joe and Jeffo) to dinner and a movie... we saw "He's Just Not That Into You" because the boys thought there was too much girl squealing in the Shopaholic preview and E from Entourage was in this one. The movie was fine, but seeing it with two boys was just hilarious... every 5 to 20 minutes one of them would lean into me and say "Do girls really think/do that?" After my consistent answer, "yes," they just shook their heads in wonder! ;)

Okay, so you know I wasn't going to trek that whole 90 minutes to Hershey and not go to Chocolate World!?! So, we headed up a little early and had just enough time to take the Chocolate World Tour, get the song in our head ("It's a Hershey Chocolate World... Wherever I go, whatever I see, Hershey!"), slurp down some milkshakes (York Peppermint and Special Dark Chocolate), before we needed to go to the game! Once we got into the game (which took a while because Joe had to take the camera back to the car b/c it had a detachable lens... hello? Bad policy!) we had a great time! Since the Caps often call up players from the Bears, we have a decent idea of the players and team. My favorite part was seeing Simeon Varlamov (Bears goalie who is out on injury, but will be back and probably called up to the Caps as soon as he's ready) walking around the concourse with some of his friends... he was in street clothes and flying under the radar, but I totally scoped him out and followed his little entourage for a bit (because I'm too chicken to ask for a photo)! Anyway, it was tres cool! We were home by Midnight with pockets full of free samples and totally exhausted (sleeping in the car while Joe drives just takes it out of me ;) )!

We had dinner on Sunday at the Ranch with the Richardson's and ended up going back over there and hanging out on Monday... by the time Monday night rolled around, I was ready for bed! :)

Here are the few photos that I have of the weekend... including a few of our cute pups playing in the snow! :)

In Case You Missed It...

Everyone in the Phone Booth just lost it when this happened... the game ended up going to a shoot out, but Semin and Backstrom both scored (and Jose shut the Habs down) to clinch the win!

Here's Joe, John, and Jeffo...

...and Joey with Peter Bondra!!
He was watching the game in the section next to us and just two rows back! What a great night!

Presenting... The Caps Cave!

If you've been following the DC Sports Addict (a.k.a. Joe), you know that we've been saving up for a while to get an HD Projector for the basement... well, Christmas came early and I've got photos to prove it! ;)

Here's the basement before the makeover:

Add in two weekends, a trip from Mom and Dad to install the projector and speakers, a few coats of paint, a trip to Kettler Iceplex for Caps Gear, two hand-me-down couches from Nancy & Joe, two slipcovers for said couches, an Ikea run, a dash of creativity... and voila! Presenting...

The Caps Cave!

Cel-le-brate Good Times... Come On!

Flashback to October 2005...

Can you believe we've been married for three years?! I know that the length in years isn't a huge milestone, but I sat back to think about it the other day and realized something... time flies when you're having fun! ;) At this time last year, we had a list of big milestones that we had accomplished in the previous year... mainly the new house and the new puppy! This year, we're just happy to have the house (especially in this market!) and are loving the crap out of Sirius Black! Of course, this past year has had some highlights... an All-Chamberlin Thanksgiving... vacation in the Dominican Republic... a new car (Yay Jetta!)... and a great year of Caps Hockey!

Which leads me to our anniversary celebration... instead of trying to go out on a Wednesday night (Hello?! Project Runway Pre-Fashion Week Show!), we decided to wait until Saturday and spend the whole day downtown! Kim & Josh were in town, so we had a nice lunch with them and Jeff Enama over at Rio... I hate that Kim & I live so far apart (i.e. not living around the corner from each other like we did growing up), so I totally jumped at the chance to spend some QT with her and Josh!

After lunch, Joe and I headed downtown to start the Anniversary celebration... dinner and the Caps Home Opener! Wedged between the Verizon Center and Clyde's, the Caps had a little pre-game fun going on... they had a huge block of ice with sticks in it... if you could pull a stick out, you got a prize (like a team-signed jersey or free tickets)! Yes, our chances were as good as Wart pulling the sword out of the stone, but if he could do it, maybe we had a shot...

Okay, maybe not! ;) We didn't have much luck... they were kind of sticklers with the rules, so no wiggling, no posting your foot against the ice for leverage, just one swift pull! Luckily, my spirits were lifted when Slapshot made a cameo...

We killed some time around Verizon Center before our dinner reservation... at ZENGO! I had been there a few times with work colleagues, but Joe had never experienced their Latin American-Asian Fusion wonders... so I gladly made the executive decision to have our anniversary dinner there! We had a killer meal and left full of Volcano Roll, Ahi Tuna, and Steak... and were ready for the game!

We got to our seats early enough to catch the pre-game skate and the ceremonial raising of the banner (Southeast Divisional Champions) into Verizon Center's rafters... which was pretty cool. As for the game, we beat the Blackhawks 4-2 and you can read about it on ESPN... I'm getting a little tired of writing! We had a great day... and it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!

The Day After...

In AOII-Land, whenever we had to discuss something objectively, we used a simple Pro/Con format. This can, of course, go on for a while, but the rule is that you have to end on a "Pro." I'd simply become a little too emotional without this strict format, so here we go...

Pro: The Capitals became the first team in NHL history to make the playoffs after being ranked 14th or lower in the standings at the season's midpoint. A small feat by no means!

Con: We were matched up with the Flyers for the 1st round of the playoffs. Aside from Uncle Don, nobody in the family follows regular season hockey like we do... so I knew that the "Go Flyers" posts were merely having fun and playing devils advocate, but it still stung.

Pro: DC fans have finally opened their eyes to see that they have a top notch team in their backyard! I was a bit worried that there would be hints of resentment from "full season fans," especially as this new craze made getting tickets more difficult, but old embraced the new to create a sea of red in Verizon center! I can only imagine how happy Ted is, knowing that the team he's been fighting to put together has finally come to fruition and are finally getting some recognition from the city, the league, and hockey lovers across the world. It's truly been a "warm fuzzy" place to be, these past few months, as everyone has an undeniable crush on the Caps.

Con: Ticket prices are going to be insane... I'd take Caps season tickets over any other team in the world, but the mortgage has to be paid and companies don't accept "I need to have Caps Season Tickets" as a valid reason for a $12k raise (yes, I need to be able to afford 2 seats... you need someone to remind you to breathe during power plays).

Pro: Coach Bruce Bourdreau... proof that Hershey is the sweetest place on earth! When you first see Gabby, he doesn't strike you as a hard core coach. He has the kind, grandfatherly, and calm air about him. And then you watch the game, wait for the inevitable bad call by the refs, and watch the grandfatherly image disintegrate as you can clearly read his lips and understand the profanity spewing out. Not to say that the guy doesn't have class, it's quite the opposite, but he knows when a call is bad and will stand behind his team. The warm fuzzies come back when you hear the locker room stories and press quotes... this guy is the true story. He loves his job, loves his team, and seems to have the right words for every situation. I'll gladly let the fans be the "8th" player on the ice, giving Gabby the "7th" spot.

Con: We had to wait until November 07 to get Coach Bourdreau behind the bench in Verizon Center.

Pro: Ted Leonsis. He really should be the 1st "pro" on my list, but this isn't in any particular order. I always think of team owners as "suits" who sit up in the owners box, drinking top shelf stuff, and schmoozing clients. Ted may do this, but he does so much more! First, he's a man of the people. I have his blog, Ted's Take, on my google reader and love his honest commentary on everything. He listens to his fans' suggestions and takes them to heart. He unknowingly has brightened some very dreary days in our house by replying to all of his emails. He's been behind his team in thick and thin, not just financially, but in every way he can be. Without our dedicated owner rocking his red jersey, the picture wouldn't be complete.

Con: The Refs. I usually don't get too riled up with officiating mistakes. They have a big job to do and are usually pretty good at doing it. My only request is for pure consistency. It drives me crazy that hockey coaches don't have a red flag to throw down a challenge on a call... I can only imagine how this would hold refs more accountable in reviewing plays. Waiting to see if Toronto caught something on their video feed can be sheer agony... especially on nights like last night. Nobody wants to win or lose on account of refs, it just leaves you with a lot of "what ifs" and "Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda's." That may be why last night felt like such a punch in the gut.

Pro: The Pro's... I love them all equally, but here's some commentary on the guys who kept it going...
~Ovechkin: Love. You can tell that Ovie loves hockey more than anything else in life. Everyone's heard the stories: At the age of two, in a Soviet toy store, Alexander grabbed a toy stick and helmet and refused to let go... As a small child, whenever he saw a hockey game on TV, he "threw all his toys" and ran to the TV... He "protested strongly" if his parents tried to change the channel.
When he first started playing for the Caps, Joe immediately loved him for chugging Cokes on the bench in between plays on the ice. We all know my love for all things Russian, so clearly it wasn't hard for me to love him at first sight on the ice. It's been fun to watch him woo fans across the world with his pure talent. Yes, I know that fans of opposing teams can't love him like we do, but you can't deny the guy's pure talent.
He loves to win. I get all emotional (yes, you can laugh, but Joe can attest to my silly sports emotions) when I see him on the ice... by the time you realized that he scored the goal, he's already leaping in the air and slamming into the plexiglass. You can see his energy and passion with his fist pumps and little motorcycle moves. The actions that set him apart are those when he's reacting to a goal made by a teammate. He's always bolting towards the guy, give a celebratory body slam, and usually knocks them onto the ice... which ends in a pile of Caps on the ice, honoring each other's accomplisments. He doesn't need to be the center of attention, not an ounce of diva in him, just pure love for winning hockey games.
He's the real thing... and luckily, he's the real thing in our town.
~Semin: Well, helloooo Sasha! He's by Ovie's side in every game... the second half of this killer tag team. He and Ovie have more points than any other duo in the league. Until the playoffs, you'd rarely see him hitting guys, but rather effortlessly gliding and waiting for the kill. He's a dominant player on the ice - he has an acute sense of awareness and is always good for a solid pass or setting up a goal. A rougher and tougher Semin has emerged in this playoff series and I'm glad he's here. He plays his heart out for us and it shows on the scoreboard.
~Backstrom: This guy is simply the best thing to come out of Sweden since Ikea and their delicious meatballs. If only the Calder looked at overall points and team contribution (as opposed to goals), he'd surely be clutching it. We're going to overlook the fact that he's 5 years younger than me and has more talent than I could dream of... this rookie is where its at. His playoff goals were clutch... Game 6's passing back and forth with Semin to end up with a goal made me want to start quacking as it was truly a made for hollywood play. Welcome to the big show... we're glad to have you here!
~Laich: I first really noticed him during a "Caps Crib" episode that they taped at Green's place... he was busting on Green and just had a really fun air about him. When he gets on that ice, you know he's going to be in the middle of the action. Brooksie is a real asset to the team.
~Green: Rock the Hawk! Instead of rocking a playoff beard, Green decided to go with a playoff mohawk... which caught on and became Elliot in the Morning's "Rock the Hawk" promotion. While I didn't exactly shave my head, Tommy and Joe did... and I don't think Joe's hawk is going anywhere! Green started game 1 with two pucks in the net! He's not even a forward, he's a defenseman!
~Brashear: Thank you Philly, we're ever so glad that we were able to take him from you! Brash is, quite possibly, one of the scariest guys on the ice. If he didn't smile so much off the ice and have such a compelling story (and a blog! http://www.donbrashear.com/index.html), I'd be terrified to meet him! He's trained with Joe Frazier, bringing a solid punch to his solid game on the ice! He usually spends more time in the penalty box than celebrating goals, but he definitely added a point to the scorboard in game 1.
~Federov: Snatching him up at the end of the season was one of McPhee's smartest moves. He's truly one of the greats and brings much needed experience to the team. There's been a lot of talk from the locker rooms about how much of an asset he's proven to be- calming guys down and mentoring his fellow countrymen. His performance on the ice has been amazing - one of the few Caps with playoff experience, he really held it together. I can only hope that he likes DC as much as we love him... and shows it by signing on with the team next year.
~Huet: Hip-Hip-Huet! Thank you France... mostly for my job, but right now for our goalie! I can't even begin to imagine how much pressure is on the goalie during any game, let alone the playoffs. Huet joined the team late in the season and didn't look back... he's made some unbelieveable saves and plays. I now understand why goalies tend to get MVP status for the playoffs... he's just been great!
...and to the rest of the team... I'm all out of witty commentary, but know that I love you all the same. Hockey is truly a team sport and every player plays such a key role in it. And, unfortunately, I've saved a fave for last...

Con: Olie. If you've read Joe's blog (http://www.dcsportsaddict.com), you saw Olaf Kolzig on his list of all-time favorite players. Kolzilla celebrated his 300th win with the Caps during the regular season, and we were so lucky to be there to honor him. It drives us crazy that a goalie can't be team captain, but if they could, it would surely be Olie.
Before the playoffs started, Joe and I talked about ice time for Olie... Huet is clearly hot right now, but it definitely hurt a little not to see Olie in front of the net. He's a true class act and epitomizes what a true Washington Capital is. He's landed in my last "Con" spot for one (heartbreaking) reason, explained by Washington Posts' Tarik El-Bashir:

Goaltender Olie Kolzig removed his nameplate from his locker here at Verizon Center after tonight's 3-2 overtime loss to Philly. Kolzig declined to speak to reporters, but that gesture seems to say it all about his future with the organization.

The season-ending loss last night felt like a punch in the gut, but this loss will leave a scar that pains me more than words can describe.

And finally, a pro, you must always end on a pro...

Pro: Our Cardiac Caps. Today we're a little somber, but only with the knowledge that it's only 5 months until we hit the ice again. This season has been one for the books and it couldn't have come at a better time... in the years ahead I will selfishly worry for my husbands hair loss and heart attack risk, but will love every minute of it! My transition from a Philly Child to a DC Adult has been completed this season... I never have, and never will, love a team as much as our Caps. I'll smile every day as I walk by the Verizon Center, knowing that I'm an itty bitty part of such a great thing! This is only the beginning and we can only go up from here! Until next time,

"C-A-P-S... Caps! Caps! Caps!"

Go Big or Go Home

Mike Green, a defenseman for the Capitals, decided to forgo the Playoff Beard this year and go with a mohawk to celebrate the team's payoff berth! Elliot from DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning radio show, and rabid Caps fan, started a little campaign for fans to "Rock the Hawk."
Needless to say, the Richardson boys are not ones who disappoint. Both Joe and Tommy are rocking their hawks for the playoffs!

Public Opinion...

I'm tired of all of the public opinion polls about the Presidential race and blah, blah, blah...
Here's the outcome of a poll that MSNBC did that shows much better numbers! ;)

Manly Man Weekend

Joe, Sirius, and I joined Nancy, Joe, Pat, Dorrie (and all of their dogs!) for a nice walk along a trail nearby. I wish I had brought the camera, but the trip was impromptu and we went there straight from Mountainside!

The dogs had a blast... the Ranch dogs certainly knew what was coming (they do this all of the time), so Sirius was in for a big treat... as soon as he saw the creek, he jumped in and was belly-deep in the mudbank - acting like the little pig that he is! We convinced him to get out of there and he was so psyched to make it to the dog's regular swimming spot! Can't say that he was hard-core swimming, but he was quick to get into the water...

After our nice hike, the dogs hung out in the back of the landscaping truck while we ducked into the Grease Pit for some lunch! I'm now fully convinced that we have an outdoor dog on our hands (as opposed to the lap dog I wanted!) who just loves the fresh air! After the morning at Mountainside and afternoon with the Ranch dogs, we were not shocked that Sirius slept for the rest of the day! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joe and Jeff went to the Capitals game on Sunday for a "guys afternoon." The game went into a shoot-out with Huit kicking Bruin-Butt and blocking all of their shots and Semin & Koslov sinking their shots in Boston's net for the win! The bonus, for Joe, was that it was "Fleece Helmet Day" at Verizon Center...
C-A-P-S... Caps! Caps! Caps!
This past Wednesday night, we went to the Capitals game with Joe's dad! We had the best seats (Row H, behind the goal!) and I've decided that I love hockey so much more when watching it in person... really, who doesn't!? I say this because every March, when Spring is springing up, we're hunkered down watching NHL Playoffs... it doesn't matter what team is playing, Joe is glued to the couch watching OLN or whatever channel the playoffs are on... every game... So, when I have a chance to watch Ovechkin in person, I'm jumping with joy! Joe even got me an Ovie jersey to sport at the games!! Sooo glad that the Caps beat the Avalanche... and now I'm totally addicted (and ready to sink any savings we have into Caps tickets)!
