It's Pink... GMYBS/PSF

Me: Doodle, do you like the red paint?
Doodle: It's pink.
Me: Technically, it's red.  I'll let it slide for now, but eventually you'll have to learn that it's red.
Doodle: No, Mommy! It's pink!

She has discovered the color pink (not that I mind, of course) and does actually know what the color pink looks like.  She points it out everywhere-- to be fair, there is a lot of pink stuff in my house --but she also insists on finding a way for other colors to be pink.  This little girl has built in rose-colored glasses! ;)

This was our first run with the easel and paints that Nancy gave her for her birthday and I wasn't quite ready for the color mixing lesson... I could have made it a lot easier by adding some white paint to our red and making pink paint, but it ended up being less to clean up at the end (she didn't know that I had more than the one color-- had I opened more paint, it would have been akin to opening pandora's box)!

Doodle really lived up to her nickname... she LOVED painting and asked to paint again at least three times in the 24 hours since we painted!  With the exception of her insistence of painting Sirius Black, our dog, it all went well and we both had a great time!

Love the collage. She is so adorable!

Sounds like my four year old! For the longest time anything that was on the darker (read: red) side, she'd call "reddish pinkish". And that was THAT. :)

Must be something about that nickname. I've always called my daughter "Doodle" too. She's seven now and is quite the little artist.

Such cute pics - neat collage!

Seeing little girls happy like that is one of my most favorite things. What a great smile. She is a doll! I hope you have a weekend filled with lots of pink : ) and paints!
